Treatment of all types of injuries has almost the same treatment algorithm. First of all, this is the so-called first aid:
- cooling of the affected area;
- anesthetic therapy (if necessary);
- local anti-inflammatory and resorption therapy;
- immobilization (if necessary);
- transportation of the victim to a specialized medical institution (if necessary).
Specialized trauma care includes: debridement of wounds (if any), tetanus vaccination, pain relieving and antimicrobial therapy, plaster cast, and surgery.
Most often, a group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs is used at various stages of trauma care. Also, for various types of injuries, anti-inflammatory and absorbable ointments, gels and tinctures containing substances of plant and animal origin are widely used. Their use can significantly reduce the treatment time by reducing edema, local inflammation and improving local peripheral blood circulation in the affected areas.
Even the smallest injury at first glance can have serious complications. Therefore, at the slightest suspicion of dislocation, fracture and other serious injury, it is necessary to urgently seek help from a specialized medical institution.
