Mirragen - healing of wounds after cesarean section and in gynecology

Mirragen is a new synthetic fiber absorbent dressing material intended for professional use in healthcare settings. It is used for healing scars and sutures of varying severity of wound surfaces. Mirragen has found application in gynecology.

One of its advantages is that it effectively heals the sutures and helps to smooth the scars after caesarean section. It is also used in a number of other gynecologic pathologies related to tissue damage.

Mirragen's appearance, composition and performance

What does Mirragen look like and why do we recommend it in gynecology? Plastic matrix in the form of rectangular plates in sterile trays-packages. Depending on the size of the wound surfaces, the sizes of the material can be of different sizes: 5x5 cm, 10x10 cm, 15x2,5 cm.

It is composed of highly porous, biologically active, borate-based fiberglass ingredients. Also contains sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus. It has a special microstructure identical to a fibrin clot. In addition to its regenerating effect, it has antimicrobial, angiogenic and anti-inflammatory effects.

Creates favorable conditions for acceleration of granulation in the area of postoperative suture at planned caesarean section. Due to its structure it is able to absorb exudate in a volume that is 4 times greater than its own surface area.

The components of Mirragen trigger biochemical reactions, thereby increasing cellular activity. As a result, the healing process is accelerated by 40%. When interacting with the wound, the material is able to dissolve in it, and its components - dissolve. Therefore, special care and re-repair of the wound surfaces is usually not required.

Importantly! If the material is firmly attached to the contents of the wound, you should not attempt to separate it. With the effect of resorption, over time, it will disappear, and its components will not allow to activate the infection.

Application of Mirragen in Gynecology

Mirragen is biocompatible with postoperative suture tissue and uterus after caesarean section. The flexible and plastic matrix easily takes the form of a wound surface. If necessary, the material is cut along the contour of the wound and fixed.

As it interacts with the seam surface, the porous material adopts its outline and begins to act. By actively absorbing moisture, it controls its amount, preventing unnecessary exudation. Fibroblasts, growth factors and enzymes involved in healing are concentrated at the site of damage.

The action of biologically active ingredients prevents excessive keloid formation. The scar on the uterus is formed flat and subsequently acquires the color of the skin. Almost any gynecological manipulation is accompanied by damage to the skin and mucous membranes. Yes, Mirragen wound healing drug can be used for more effective healing:

  • After surgery, caesarean section;
  • At other surgical interventions concerning a pathology of a uterus and appendages;
  • In case of infected injuries;
  • To avoid the formation of keloid scars;
  • In case of excessive exudation.

Warning! Before applying the wound, the necrotized fragments and excess fluid must be cleaned, removed. The frequency of replacement of the bandage depends on the nature of the wound surface, but at least once a week. If the matrix has changed color or properties, or has become colorless, it must be replaced.

Characteristics of Mirragen in practice and in reviews

Mirragen characterizes a new approach to the management of patients after caesarean section or other gynecological operations during the healing of different types of wounds. It allows you to keep the postoperative suture in isolation from the environment, but at the same time, maintains its purity and the required amount of moisture. With Mirragen, we spend less time healing the wound, reducing the number of dressings and healing time.

Recovery after cesarean section is faster and more efficient, with a minimal chance of scarring. Moreover, in the case of a subsequent pregnancy, in the absence of contraindications, physiological delivery is possible.

The high efficiency of the dressing material is evidenced by numerous responses from patients in whom the rate of accelerated healing exceeded 90%, with no adverse reactions.
